The Uchiki Kuri gourd is one of the highly valued Japanese varieties of the Hokkaido type. Plants have a creeping habit. They produce an abundant crop of moderately large fruit with an intensely orange, uniformly colored and smooth skin. The flesh is also orange, tender, juicy and sweet. It contains a lot of beta-carotene, which is why it is recommended especially for children. The offered variety is very popular due to the high decorative value of the fruit and its surprising resistance to damage in transport. Pumpkins can be used for preserves – juices, cakes and marinades – and stored for a long time.
Sowing the seeds directly into the ground is carried out in May, with a spacing of 100 x 100 cm. The substrate should be carefully weeded, moist and humus, with a neutral or close to neutral PH. Uchiki Kuri pumpkins perform best in a sunny and warm position, sheltered from winds.
